An essential safety feature, and a necessity by law, are anti-collision systems for any crane track with more than one bridge beam. Otherwise known as a collision avoidance system, the low-cost and innovative solution prevents accidental collisions of overhead gantry cranes when there is more than one crane running on the same down-shop track. Utilising two laser projecting sensors that bounce off reflector panels when the bridge reaches the set position, this then ceases the travel operation of the bridge and brings the long-travel to a halt.
