Ratchet Lever Hoists
WHAT IS A RATCHET LEVER HOIST?
It is a manual lifting device for raising and lowering heavy loads, where the main components typically include a lever, a chain or wire rope, a load hook, a brake, and a ratchet and pawl system. It operates using a ratcheting mechanism, where the lever is used to apply force and engage the ratchet to lift or lower the load incrementally.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN A RATCHET LEVER HOIST HOLD?
The amount that the hoist can lift depends on the specification of each individual hoist. Each hoist can typically be categorised as either a light, medium or heavy duty hoist, each of which have different tolerable loads.
The tolerable loads of the ratchet lever hoists we stock ranges from 250 kg to 10,000 kg, but you should always check the specification of your individual hoist before lifting more than it can potentially tolerate.
WHY WOULD I NEED A RATCHET LEVER HOIST?
Ratchet lever hoists have more transferable uses than many other hoist tools, they are typically relatively lightweight and can therefore be transported easily. Additionally ratchet lever hoists are more compact than most other hoists and can be used to lift weights both horizontally and vertically, meaning if you are confined for space and budget they are a good choice.
